So the grade level I chose was 9th-10th grade. One standard was to determine the meaning of unknown words as well as words with multiple meanings. In order to meet this standard I would need to be proficient with online dictionaries and thesauri. I believe I am fit to meet this standard with my current skillset.

The resource I found is meant for teaching language arts to high schoolers. It is a lesson plan teaching the difference between passive and active voice in writing. It also shows the importance of active voice to liven up the writing. This would be very useful for me in the classroom to easily help students make their writing less boring.

I think it will be exceedingly crucial to be well versed in internet searching as a teacher. It would be a much harder job without the help of those online. I think the best resource from this week to me is the Educator Toolkit. Whenever I need a good outline on how to teach a lesson I can look there and build off of it.

  2. Hey Jon! I like the standard that you chose for your ELA standards. I think it is important for students to expand their vocabulary by learning new and unknown words.
