I have always used Microsoft Word all my life, but I wouldn't say I'm an expert with it. I had a class freshman year of college on Microsoft but there's like ten years between freshman and senior year. But I know how to make words appear so that's enough I'd think. I had to use google drive a few times in high school and it was wack. Like the knock-off brand.
The standard in ISTE which most stood out to me was the first one, Learner. I've grown up with a handful of ignorant teachers crossing my path. Yes, they are holding the role of teacher, but as humans we are all learning always. So as a teacher should have the humility to take good advice and always look for it.
I think the label of "digital native" is appropriate. You can definitely tell the difference between a digital native and a digital immigrant. Always growing if a substitute teacher came in without proper training they would have to be coached through the classroom technology by the students. Especially now, in zoom classes, we can see a divide.
